What we do

The De Pree Leadership Center extends the relational leadership focus of Max De Pree.  Both a research center and boutique consulting firm, we work in the gray space between the traditional knowledge silos.  We work at the integration of the factual approach to leadership, management and organizational design with the so-called soft side of developing people and organizational culture within an increasingly diversified society.  We seek creative, innovative solutions for our clients.  We are able to offer an approach to education, development and problem solving that is unique in the industry and far beyond what fact-based, quantitative analyses can hope to address.

Consulting Services

DPLC brings together strategy and human capital areas, offering an integrated approach to problem-solving. 

Societal and market forces are demanding that businesses and NGO's take a more holistic approach to their work.  The workforce has changed and new demands are being made upon organizations that seek to recruit and retain talented people.  Further, there is greater interaction between the organization and the communities in which they conduct their work.  Perhaps not surprisingly, executives have expressed the need for assistance in leading organizations that are both healthy and socially aware. Leaders and organizations must now grapple with issues that have traditionally been outside of the business curriculum

Our consulting services focus upon integration at all levels in an organization, including leadership, assessment of behavioral practices to determine if they are congruent with the espoused corporate values, IT, marketing, global expansion or an international workforce. Our process begins with a re-evaluation of the often unspoken beliefs of leadership and organizations.  This is based upon the notion that beliefs shape practice. The belief system of both individuals and organizations serves to shape the practices of the organization. In other words, the way an organization functions is a direct reflection of the beliefs of its leadership. Leadership Development

This is the heart of De Pree Leadership Center.  Rather than simply focusing upon an individual, we also investigate the manner in which leadership is exercised within an organization. We explore the interconnectedness of those leading an organization with those who are traditionally viewed as followers. 

Seminars and Training

Executive continuing education is an important component of an organization staffed by knowledge workers.  We offer weekend seminars that address specific areas of need for executives.  The framework for the sessions is established upon the three C’s of executive education—character, competence and capacity.  The seminars are conducted in our facility in Pasadena, CA. 

Executive Coaching

For those who seek more individual attention to specific issues related to their leadership/management, we offer a holistic approach to individual coaching and can work with you to bring out your best.
